Power Supply RT-Hall Sensor

Postby Hustler » Mon Feb 09, 2015 10:51 am

There are conflicting reports about the power supply of the RT Hall sensor.

http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/ind ... nalSensors
says 5 V (Winston Data Sheet says at least 6 V).

http://www.race-technology.com/wiki/ind ... WheelSpeed
says 12 V.

What is better or right?

We have supplied various types over the years which is the cause for the conflict in documentation.

All of the wheel speed sensors we have supplied work with 12v as the supply.

The current version needs 12v or can work off 5v is a pull up resistor is used.

I will update the first link to say 12v.

Kind regards,

My version Winston CL-SM12-3002NB1.

A test, same configuration, left 12V, right 5V.

When running off 5v and without a pull-up resistor the voltage on the output wire doesn't reliable go above the trigger threshold.

If you wish to use the 5v connect a 1k pull up resistor between 5v and signal.
