Video4 - CF card initialise options

Postby Rich52 » Sun Aug 20, 2017 9:29 am

This is a follow on question from a previous post ... are there are "hidden" commands or files that can be added to a CF card to force the Default.VGL file to be reloaded when a card is plugged in or maybe on each power up?

Currently a DONE folder is created and the Default is moved there to disable re-initialise each time - so can this action be disabled so Default.VGL is left in root and therefore will be reloaded each time.

Requirement is to have different configs on different CF cards that can just be swapped to change the layout.

Dear Rich,

When the VIDEO4 detects a 'DEFAULT.VGL' file (VIDEO4 configuration file) on the root directory of its memory card. The configuration file will be installed on the unit and then placed into a 'DONE' folder. This will happen every time, as this is the units way of telling the user the configuration file has been successfully installed.

The VIDEO4 will only detect the configuration file if it's placed in the root directory of the memory card. So if you need to re-install the configuration, you need to cut or copy the 'DEFAULT.VGL' file from the 'DONE' folder to the root directory of the card for the VIDEO4 to detect it.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
