Dash 2 has no 5V feed?

Yet the sensors require one, so if I'm only using the Dash2, how does that work?

Radio Shack Part# 7805

Good for up to 1A.

Sorry but I'm an electronics numpty! How would it be connected?

One pin is wired to 12v, another pin is wired to vehicle ground and the third pin provides a stabilised 5v. For info on what pin does what, you need to reference the manufacturers data sheet on the specific 7805 device. (The 7805 is readily available from a host of manufacturers)

Sounds pretty strightforward. Does it need protecting? Will heat shrink do the job?
