DASH2 / Operation

Operating the DASH2

During normal operation, the DASH2 will display the selected information to the driver and monitor all inputs for alarm conditions. In-vehicle control of the DASH2 functions is via a logical menu structure and four buttons: MENU, SELECT, UP, and DOWN. These allow the user to alter displayed units, switch between data screens, change button functions, and set or configure many other options. When in menu system display mode the actual function of the MENU/SELECT/UP/DOWN buttons is fixed, but their function during normal display mode can be programmed, for example, to provide shortcuts to frequently used features. The MENU button is used to switch between normal display and menu system display. This is the only button whose function cannot be changed. Figure 4 illustrates the structure of the menu system. The following sections describe the details and operation of each function.
