SPEEDBOX Output Data Formats

Data is available from the SPEEDBOX in a variety of output formats suitable for logging into a wide variety of systems. The formats available are CAN, serial/USB (RS232), analog and pulse. Details of each data format can be found in the following sections, and a summary of the data available in each format is shown in the table below.

The following table summarises which measurements are available in each output format. “RT” and “NMEA” are the serial/USB formats. The pulse output is not shown in the table; the pulse output can output either speed (default) or a timepulse.

Key to annotations:

Y* These outputs are not required in RT format, since they are automatically calculated from other variables in the RT Analysis software.
N** Some GPS status information is output, but not all of the internal SPEEDBOX GPS status can be described by these formats.
