When the ECU Serial Interface is connected directly to a standalone DASH2 it must be connected using the special null modem type serial lead supplied. This null modem cable is bi-directional, so it does not matter which way around it is connected. Using this special cable connect the “Serial Data Out” connector from the ECU Serial Interface to the serial cable on DASH2 connector 2. When using the ECU Serial Interface with a standalone DASH2 you will also need to use the special power adaptor cable supplied with the ECU Serial Interface. This connects to the “Serial Data In” connector on the ECU Serial Interface and the figure-8 flying lead should be connected to a 12V supply – the black wire with white tracer is positive and the black wire is negative.
