ConnectingToOtherEquipment / LoggerAndDASH

Data logger or data logger and dashboard

The CAN Interface is supplied with integrated cables and 9-way D type connectors. One is labelled “Serial Data In” and another labelled “Serial Data Out”. When connecting directly to a data logger “Serial Data Out” must be connected to the data logger serial port. If a dashboard is also used this should be connected to “Serial Data In”. The third connector on the CAN Interface should be connected to the output from the ECU. The 9 way connector supplied with the CAN Interface is directly compatible with many ECUs but if your ECU uses a different type of connector you will need an adaptor to convert this to a 9-way female D type connector. Serial extension cables may be used to extend the integrated cables on the CAN Interface if required.
