DVDBurner / Configuration

Configuration

This will open the ‘Project settings’ form.

Project Settings Form

The project settings form contains 3 tabs;

• General – general configurations options
• Menu – configuration related to DVD menus
• Burning - configuration related DVD burning

Project settings -> General Tab

Contains the following fields;

• Target size (combo box) – select the size of the DVD that you wish to use. Options include the following;
  o Custom
  o DVD (4.3 GB)
  o DVD DL (7.9 GB)
  o DVD RAM (4.2 GB)
  o Mini-DVD (1.35 GB)
  o Mni-DVD DL (2.74 GB)
• Custom size (text box) – used to enter/display the target DVD size in MB (mega bytes). Users can edit the value of this text box when ‘Custom’ is selected in ‘Target size’ combo box. In all other situations it is disabled, and is used to display the DVD target size.
• Encoder priority (combo box) – set/view the priority of the application/process
• Destination Folder (text box) – gives the folder path to store the ISO image file, prior to burning the DVD. This folder will also be used to hold some temporary files such as the DVD folder structure used by the application. These files ad folders will be deleted after the DVD burning process has completed. The user can either directly edit the text box, or browse and select the destination folder.
• Keep intermediate encoded audio and video files (check box) – if checked the application will not delete some temporary files used in the DVD encoding/burning process. These files are located in the ‘{Application Folder}\ ChapterTemp’ folder.

Project settings -> Menu Tab

Contains the following items;

• Background Image (text box) – displays the path to the background image to be used in the DVD menus. Users can click the browse button to browse for an image.
• Title Image (text box) – displays the path to the title image to be used in the DVD menus. This image will be used to depict an individual title in the Title Menu of the DVD. Users can click the browse button to browse for an image.
• Customize text (text box) – custom text message to be displayed at the bottom of the Title Menu of the DVD.
• Chapter Images (command button) – opens the ‘Chapter images’ form.

Chapter Images Form

Contains the following items;

• Type (combo box) – A unique number denoting the chapter type
• Description (text box) – a short description of the chapter type
• Image (text box) – the path to an image for the chapters type, to be used in the chapter menu of the DVD. Users can click the browse button to browse for an image.
• Add (command button) – used to add a new chapter type or to update an existing chapter type.
• Remove (command button) – used to remove an existing chapter type

Project settings -> Burn Tab

Contains the following fields;

• Create ISO image (checkbox) – if checked, the application will create and DVD image file. This file is subsequently copied into the DVD during the burn process.

If this checkbox is unchecked, an ISO image file will not be created and hence a DVD cannot be crated. Under such a scenario the DVD burning process will conclude after DVD folder structure has been created.

• Burn Project to Disk (checkbox) – if checked, will burn the ISO image to DVD. Otherwise the process will cease after the ISO image has been created.
• Disk Label (text box) – the label for the created DVD
• Drive (combo box) – gives a dropdown list of available DVD writers on the computer. User has to select the DVD writer which has been loaded with a blank DVD for the DVD burning process.
• Delete ISO Image after burning (check box) – the ISO image and DVD folder structure is deleted after burning the DVD.
