LapSimulation / SimulationResults

Results of the simulation

Simulated lap times.

If “Simulated time slip” is enabled in the variables manager:

The you will get an extra two lines of results in the lap timing window, labelled as “simulated” and “sim delta”:

The “simulated” row lists all the fastest simulated lap and sector results.

The “sim delta” is the difference between the best lap/sector that was achieved and the best simulated lap/sector.

Just scanning across the sim delta you can easily pick out the biggest differences, and then concentrate on these sectors for further analysis. In the above example, “Sector 3” has by far the largest “sim delta” and so it would be reasonable to focus on this sector for further analysis.

Graphing results

All the simulated results can be graphed for instant comparison. For example you can graph the simulated speed against actual speed:

By far the clearest way to see where you lost/gained time compared with the simulation is to colour the track map using simulated time slip rate. This is done by opening a track map and setting up the options:

Then set the track map to display a single lap (either by setting the lap directly in the options, or by using interactive mode and selecting in the lap table) and you will get a track map as below. The areas coloured red are where we are travelling slower than the simulation, and areas that are blue are where speeds are similar. In this case there is clearly a significant area to focus on the braking area approaching the tight corner at the bottom of the map.
